The WFPMA, working with Dr. Philipp Zimmerman, will support work on a survey of talent management entitled “The Real Impact of Talent Management”, focusing not on the larger internationally operating companies as these surveys have focused on in past research, but Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) and Family Owned Businesses (FOBs). This survey will be co-sponsored by CAPITALENT, a German consulting group.
Over 90% of the global economy is made up of SMEs and FOBs, and are vitally important to the health of our global economy. In order to better serve the HR needs of these smaller companies, understanding their unique needs and challenges is vital, as many of them do not have professional HR departments and those line managers wouldn’t necessarily think to reach out to an HR resource in order to answer what is essentially an HR-related question.
The survey will consist of both an online web-based component as well as business and HR leader interviews. The web survey and interviews will be conducted in each one of the following languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, French, Japanese, Polish, Russian and Chinese, conducted in the first half of 2015. The aim is to have the report ready by September 2015.
